Another Wildly Entertaining Korean Drama — A Housewife Turns into Sherlock Holmes in Seconds! Hilarious and High-Energy!

Starring Lee Si-young, Jung Young-joo, Kim Da-som, Nam Ki-ae
Get ready for laughs, suspense, and some serious sleuthing! Housewives’ Detective Agency is the latest Korean drama that turns everyday domestic life into a thrilling, high-energy comedy-mystery adventure.

Plot Summary:
Set in the seemingly quiet Gwangsan Public Housing Complex, four very different but close-knit housewives stumble into crime-solving after a hostage crisis erupts at a nearby supermarket—on the very day that new resident Mi-ri moves in.

When a gunman declares, “There’s a filthy woman here who drove me insane!”, panic spreads—until Mi-ri uses her razor-sharp reasoning to unmask the real troublemaker: the gunman’s mistress. The other three housewives step in with teamwork and quick thinking to resolve the situation without harm.

Their chemistry is instant. Realizing their shared talent for deduction (and a shared love of gossip), the four team up to form the Housewives’ Detective Agency, dedicated to exposing villains and restoring order—with flair and plenty of laughs.

What Works:

  • A fresh mix of detective work and comedy with a domestic twist
  • Each lead brings a distinct personality and unique skillset
  • Hilarious yet heartfelt teamwork among women often underestimated
  • Stylish direction by Min Jin-ki keeps the pace fun and energetic
  • Lee Si-young makes a triumphant return to TV following her divorce in April, bringing fire to her role

What Could Be Better:

  • Some plot elements feel familiar (hello, Desperate Housewives meets Sherlock)
  • Only 10 episodes—might leave fans wanting more

Verdict:
Housewives’ Detective Agency is a wildly entertaining ride packed with mystery, mischief, and mom-power. It’s a bold new entry into the Korean drama world, balancing laugh-out-loud comedy with edge-of-your-seat detective thrills. Don’t miss it!

Now airing on ENA (Korea), premiered June 16, 2025. Two episodes out, with new episodes every Monday and Tuesday.
