4 Critically Acclaimed Korean Mystery Dramas — Action-Packed, Rewatchable, and Unmissable

1. My Name

The crime boss character is surprisingly well-written—especially his relationship with the female lead. Just when the plot starts to feel a bit cliché, something fresh is thrown into the mix.

This drama definitely leans toward the action-heavy side of the genre, and the fight scenes are exceptionally well done—intense and satisfying to watch.

I was ready to complain that the romance subplot was unnecessary, but then came the twist—it turned out to be meaningful setup. In hindsight, the ending really works.

2. Narco-Saints (Suriname)

The story isn’t overly complex. Hwang Jung-min plays a powerful drug lord who flees to Suriname and becomes deeply entangled with the country’s president.

Despite placing undercover agents close to him, the Korean authorities are unable to take him down.

That is, until they discover Kang In-gu, played by Ha Jung-woo. At the time, he’s just a regular guy selling skate fish in Suriname, separated from his wife and kids. The authorities recruit him and turn him into a civilian informant.

3. The Bequeathed (The Murderer’s Difficult Dilemma)

This drama tells a story of “vigilante justice” through a darkly humorous lens. The pacing is smooth, and the production quality is cinematic—truly film-level.

The director’s techniques are sharp and clever, making for a suspenseful, stylish experience.
