Lightning Strikes in the First Episode — Hilarious and Insane! A Woman Uses High-Tech to Find a Boyfriend in This Over-the-Top, Absurd Comedy That Gets More Addictive by the Minute

This new Korean drama is too funny!

It’s a wild, absurd romantic comedy —
the female lead keeps failing in love, and every cheating ex-boyfriend?
She blames it all on their genes.

“DNA Lover”

A romantic comedy directed by Sung Ji-wook, written by Jung Soo-mi, and starring Jung In-sun, Choi Si-won, Lee Tae-hwan, and Jung Yoo-jin.

It tells the story of genetic researcher Han So-jin, who, after multiple failed relationships, decides to find her destined partner using DNA.

All of her boyfriends have been playboys — either already cheating or on their way to cheat.
Her love life always ends in betrayal and heartbreak.

Why does this tragic pattern keep repeating in her life?

Han So-jin (played by Jung In-sun) is a 32-year-old genetic researcher who’s had one failed relationship after another.

As a homebody, she still dreams of finding a genetically perfect soulmate. After yet another heartbreak, So-jin decides to fully focus on her research.

She comes to a realization: her breakups weren’t her fault — she simply didn’t know the guy wasn’t her genetically destined match.

That’s when she pulls out her secret weapon for finding a boyfriend: DNA.

Using science to find her one true love, she hopes genetics will lead her to someone who won’t leave her.

Her job gives her deep insight into how genes shape personality and destiny, and she’s convinced that DNA can be the key to a lasting relationship.

The story kicks off with So-jin just having gone through another breakup.
In her last relationship, she went out of her way to please her boyfriend’s family, constantly compromising, until the inevitable arguments began.
