This is the 2016 Korean drama “THE K2.”
Starring Ji Chang-wook, Im Yoon-ah, Song Yoon-ah, and others, it premiered on tvN in 2016, blending political conspiracy, romance, and action elements.

Plot Summary:
The male lead, Kim Je-ha (played by Ji Chang-wook), was once an elite mercenary for the world’s top private military company, PMC Blackstone.
During a mission, he was betrayed within the organization and discharged under false accusations.
He witnessed his girlfriend being kidnapped, with the mastermind being Korean politician Park Kwan-soo. Frantic, Je-ha risked everything to rescue her, but when he arrived, she was already lying in a pool of blood.
Stunned and helpless, he was suddenly knocked out by a black-gloved fist. When he awoke, he was holding the gun that killed his girlfriend. Falsely framed and hunted by the police, Kim Je-ha began his life on the run.
Despite everything, he’s determined to return to Korea and take revenge.
Back in Korea, Kim Je-ha works odd jobs at a renovation company while hunting his enemies.
One evening, while repairing an outdoor advertising banner on a tall building, he accidentally witnesses presidential candidate Jang Se-jun (played by Jo Sung-ha) being framed with compromising photos by his political rivals through a window.
This dark political conspiracy instantly puts Kim Je-ha in danger.
He breaks into the building and fights with the black-suited assailants.
If you like action-packed revenge dramas with complex political intrigue, unforgettable chemistry, and jaw-dropping fight scenes, “THE K2” is a must-watch. Ji Chang-wook’s peak visuals and intense action alone make it worth binging — and 16 episodes seriously feel too short!
